BOND REDUCTIONS

John D. Newkirk represents individuals who have been charged with a crime and are seeking a bond reduction. When an individual is arrested for a General Sessions offense an initial bond may be set by a Magistrate. If you or a loved one cannot afford to post that bond amount, an attorney may be able to file a motion for a bond reduction hearing in front of a Circuit Court Judge.

For certain crimes a Magistrate cannot set a bond; an individual charged with this type of crime will not have a bond until an attorney files a motion for a bond hearing in front of a Circuit Court Judge.
